Eaves House
A low roof and deep eaves shelter a home arranged around the garden. Pale surfaces, timber and dark-framed glazing connect the architecture to the everyday rooms within.

Under a quiet roof.
Seen from the garden, the roof is the house’s defining gesture. Its pale, folded surface extends beyond the walls, drawing a clear horizontal line above the terrace. Beneath it, a dark-framed opening connects the room to a raised outdoor platform; broad steps soften the meeting with the lawn. The composition gives an ordinary act — stepping outside — an architectural setting.
The depth of a threshold
The eaves establish a sheltered edge around the pale exterior. Their depth, the recess of the glazing and the change in ground level give the elevation its layers. With few competing elements, shadow becomes a visible part of the composition.
Inside, the same relationship is experienced at the scale of a seat. A sofa faces across the living room, while a large opening keeps the garden within view. Timber flooring and softly coloured upholstery bring warmth to the restrained enclosure.
Together, with a little separation
Kitchen, dining and living areas share a close visual relationship. A slim, dark-framed glazed screen marks the kitchen boundary without obscuring its timber cabinetry. The dining table sits near the window, between the preparation space and the softer furnishings of the living room.
The screen’s fine outline echoes the external window frames. This repeated detail gives the interior continuity without asking every surface to be the same: pale walls, timber and glass retain their different qualities.
A room held by light
A freestanding stove occupies the corner between the garden opening and the wall of the living room. Its compact dark silhouette adds a point of focus among the lighter surfaces. Sunlight across the floor does the rest, revealing grain, texture and the distance between furniture.
The study’s strength lies in these measured relationships. Roof and terrace, kitchen and table, sofa and garden form a home whose character can be read through the small movements of a day.
